
"Mind/Body Connection"
As an embodied practice, yoga is an effective way to cultivate a healthy connection between the mind and the body. Our minds are taskmasters, often ignoring the needs of our bodies. However, sometimes our bodies need a little encouragement and guidance to break out of neurological ruts. When we create a harmonious relationship between our bodies and minds, we begin to feel more centred and at peace.
The Sanskrit word yoga is often defined as 'union'...this can mean the union of many complementary opposites, such as:
In the Mind/Body Connection yoga class, students are encouraged to listen to the messages communicated by their bodies, emotions and minds…for it is in this communication that we can better understand ourselves and the patterns in our lives and mindfully navigate the path of transformation.
